InovAtlantic and Imediata, following the proposed aim of contributing to the development and promotion of the Information Society at RAM (Autonomous Region of Madeira), has established a protocol with Madeira Rural – Associação de Turismo em Espaço Rural da Região Autónoma da Madeira (Tourism Association in Rural Areas of

the Autonomous Region of Madeira) – to place Multimedia Kiosks next to their facilities in Madeira’s Airport. Thus, Madeira Rural makes all the information available in its portal in a self-service environment, enabling also online reservations for rural tourism houses of Madeira integrated in the Reservations Central. For those interested all services and information are thus accessible 24 hours a day, even when the facilities are closed.

The multimedia kiosks, besides providing Madeira Rural’s information and the online reservations service, also allow browsing ANAM’s (Airports and Air Navigation of Madeira) website, which has useful information for Airport’s users, namely detailed information about arrivals and departures, weather information, initiatives and ANAM’s news, among others.

The aim of this project is also the dissemination, in a practical use situation, of the advantages of this type of autonomous and interactive solution for the users. It is also possible to access the websites of the sponsors InovAtlantic and Imediata, where one can find out more about products and services of both companies, namely the possibility of knowing other kiosk and model solutions on Imediata’s website.
